「 out of the blue 」

 



A : An old classmate of mine called me out of the blue yesterday.

（ 昨日、突然、同級生の人から電話があったのよ。）


B : Wow, when was the last time you met her?

（ え～、最後に彼女と会ったのは、いつ？）


A : Maybe 4 or 5 years ago.

（ たぶん、4，5年前かな。）






A : My parents showed up last Sunday out of the blue. They should have let me know earlier.  My house was a mess.

※  should have 過去分詞（～すればよかった） 

（ 両親が、先週の日曜日に突然、来たのよ＜家に＞。事前に連絡をくれればいいのに。家がすごく散らかっていたのよ。）


B :  Yes, I agree.

（ そうだよね。）
